The Africa Twin’s lineage traces back to Dakar Rally dominance in the 1980s — Honda built a road bike around the same principles, and after four decades of refinement the CRF1100L is one of the most accomplished adventure tourers available at any price.

The 1,084 cc parallel-twin is known for its reliability as much as its performance. Honda’s build quality means you spend your trip riding rather than troubleshooting, which matters when you’re three days from the nearest town in the Northern Cape. The engine produces 102 hp with linear power delivery that makes it forgiving on slippery gravel without sacrificing grunt when the track demands it.

Our Africa Twin units are available with Honda’s DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), which transforms the bike for riders who want to focus entirely on the terrain rather than clutch work — particularly useful on technical gravel climbs and slow-speed river crossings. Standard manual gearbox units are also in the fleet if you prefer the traditional feel.

The ergonomics are among the best in class: a naturally upright riding position, well-spaced footpegs, and a seat height that accommodates a range of rider heights. It’s the bike that feels right from the first hour and keeps feeling right through the hundredth.
